DRA’s employees are well-educated, highly-trained investigators from a wide range of fields including, federal, state and local law enforcement, computer technology, journalism, political consulting, education, psychology and video and still photography.

The firm was founded in 1983 by David Reuben.

David Reuben, Principal

Mr. Reuben is a licensed Private Investigator (California License # 8075).

He is a POST Certified Background Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), holds several teaching certificates, and lectures frequently before university and business groups.

He began his professional career in 1973 with the staff of the State's Attorney in Chicago where he investigated many of Chicago's largest cases in organized crime, official corruption, vice, sophisticated white collar crime and fraud.

In 1976 he brought this specialized investigative expertise to San Francisco where he coordinated and directed all investigations for the Special Prosecutions Unit in the District Attorney's Office.

In 1979 he received a commendation from the U.S. Justice Department for his work in coordinating an international investigation in the People's Temple/Guyana tragedies.

In 1980 he was hired by the City of Oakland to establish and administer the Oakland Police Review Board – one of the first of its kind in the United States – and received a commendation for his efforts in bringing the Police Department and the Oakland community into a closer working relationship.

Mr. Reuben received his undergraduate degree with Honors in Government Studies from Ohio University and a graduate degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
